Hayato Matsumoto is a photographer, a Japanese repatriate from Kazakhstan.
Born in 1965 in Almaty, the old capital of Kazakhstan. Previously, he was the head of the Homicide Investigation Department of the State Investigative Committee in Northern Kazakhstan. Since 2000, he has been a permanent resident of Japan.
Matsumoto became acquainted with photography in early childhood, and has been photographing ever since. He is the founder and developer of the international project "PhotoArtCreation", as well as an active participant in a wide range of projects and exhibitions. Among his latest projects is a photofilm "Doves of Hope", which centers on lives of women in the Israeli army. Matsumoto often travels to Israel, Kazakhstan, and Europe. His preferred genres include landscape photography, portraits, and reportage, mostly black and white. Member of the Photo Union of Japan. Matsumoto's home studio is located in the city of Kobe.
